Ashnil Mara Camp is situated inside the Maasai Mara National Reserve, overlooking the Mara River and close to areas associated with the spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration. Its location provides excellent access to some of the Mara’s most productive game-viewing areas.

The camp combines comfortable safari accommodation with a relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal base for exploring the Mara's extraordinary wildlife. Ashnil Mara Camp offers luxury en-suite safari tents, each featuring a comfortable bedroom, hot-water shower, hairdryer, mosquito netting and a private wooden terrace with views towards the surrounding plains and wildlife. Current Ashnil information lists 30 luxury tents, while some older listings still show 50, so the newer official figure is preferable.

The camp's position beside the Mara River provides a particularly scenic setting and places guests close to important wildlife areas. The Maasai Mara is renowned for its populations of lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and numerous bird species.
