Nestled on the edge of South Luangwa National Park in Zambia’s renowned Luangwa Valley, Kafunta River Lodge offers the quintessential African safari experience. Overlooking the expansive floodplains of the Luangwa River, the lodge captures the romance and adventure of a classic safari while combining exceptional wildlife viewing with warm, personalised hospitality.

Accommodating a maximum of twenty guests, the lodge features ten spacious thatched chalets raised on wooden platforms and positioned to maximise the spectacular views. Decorated with authentic African charm, the standard chalets offer comfort and character, while the luxury chalets include an elevated viewing veranda and an indulgent bathroom. Each chalet features en-suite facilities, hot and cold running water, mosquito nets, electric fans, tea and coffee-making facilities, and a private veranda.

At the heart of the lodge is an inviting open-sided lounge and dining area, shaded by a magnificent wild mango tree. Guests can relax on the expansive viewing deck overlooking an active waterhole, where wildlife such as hippos, giraffes, zebras, impalas, crocodiles, and countless bird species can be observed throughout the day. A concealed wildlife hide beneath the deck provides exceptional opportunities for photography and birdwatching.
