St Francis Golf Lodge is an intimate four-star golf lodge situated within the secure St Francis Links Golf Estate, overlooking the first tee of the award-winning Jack Nicklaus-designed St Francis Links course. It is in St Francis Bay on the Eastern Cape, between Port Elizabeth and Plettenberg Bay, making it a convenient stop between the Garden Route and Sunshine Coast.
The lodge consists of two adjacent five-bedroom houses, with a total of 10 stylish en-suite rooms. Guests share the facilities across both houses, which gives the property a relaxed, private-house atmosphere rather than the feel of a conventional hotel. The houses each have an open-plan lounge and dining area, honesty bar and covered outdoor patio.
The rooms are comfortable and well appointed, with king or twin beds, tea and coffee facilities, ceiling fans, heaters, safes, hairdryers and flat-screen TVs with hospitality DSTV. The location is also excellent for exploring St Francis Bay and Cape St Francis. Beaches are around five minutes away, while the surrounding area offers boating, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, surfing, fishing, cycling, hiking, horse riding, bird watching and dolphin and seasonal whale watching. The Kromme River and canal system is also suitable for boat and canoe trips.
For relaxation, the lodge has a secluded swimming pool with sun loungers, a TV lounge, games and outdoor spaces. Guests can also make use of the spa facilities at the nearby Links Clubhouse.
Breakfast is included, with the nearby Links Clubhouse offering breakfast and lunch daily and dinner on selected evenings. There are also numerous restaurants in St Francis Bay, the canals and Port St Francis.
